In line with our aim to bridge the knowledge gap between the scientific and wider communities, Croaking Environment Resources has established this website to facilitate the exchange of information and the distribution of education materials. Every effort has been made to ensure that any information provided is as current and accurate as possible, although we cannot guarantee that this is so. No liability or responsibility will be accepted for any loss, damage, cost or expense incurred by any user of this website or the information, products or links to third parties included therein.
Our privacy policy is based on maximum protection for you. Any information you choose to provide to us will be treated with confidentiality at all times. There are several key points that you should be aware of when visiting our website:
- When you visit our website, the server records basic information about your computer. This is simply something that all internet servers do when you visit web pages. The kind of information that servers record includes the type of operating system and web browser used by connecting computers, the pages and files requested, the country and domain name of the connecting computer, and the time and date various files on our website are accessed. None of this information identifies your computer, or relays any information about you, but you should be aware that servers routinely record this type of information. We occasionally analyse these web usage statistics for our site, simply in order to improve the layout and content, to identify broken links, and to monitor the success of our initiatives.
- When you purchase from our secure store, we do not receive your financial details. Paypal is a secure third party used to process our online store orders. Paypal securely processes the Credit Card transaction, and then notifies us of the order. We only receive the information required to fulfil that order: the products purchased, and a name, address and email for delivery purposes.
- We do not disclose your contact details to any other third party. When you provide us with your contact details, that's exactly what we use them for - contacting you. We do not pass this information on to any other party, for any other purpose. We passionately disapprove of unsolicited marketing groups, and would never dream of allowing your details to fall into other hands.
- eCommunity. If you submit an entry for your group in the eCommunity section of the website, you may certainly include contact details (it would help people get in touch with you). Be aware that these details will be available 24-7, to anyone in the world. Although our focus is the east Australian region, we regularly receive hits from all around the world. This constant accessibility to your details is probably a good thing for your group, but please bear this point in mind when preparing your submissions.
- A note on 'blocked content'. Some web browsers have strict security settings that block certain web content, even very simple and harmless page elements. Our site only includes basic web content (e.g. html files, pdf documents, etc.), and this should not be a problem. To assist us in maintaining the accessibility of our site to all users, please contact us if you ever receive any such problems or warnings from your browser when visiting our site. Likewise, if your browser does not display our pages properly, please contact us.
